News from GM in St. Petersburg

On September 4 some problems with the welding equipment were reported to the managment (leackage of hot water). Unfortunately the employer was not willing or able to solve the problems so the employees were informed by the ITUA union that they do not have to work in hazardous conditions.

Due to employees' rejection to work in dangerous conditions the work on the conveyor was stopped for 4 hours. Only then the employer reacted and solved the problem.

This showed the employees that they have certain rights and they can enforce them with help of the union. So some of the employees joined the ITUA union.
