Resolution of the IMF World Conference on Airbus and Suppliers
Participants to the “IMF World Conference Airbus + Suppliers” taking place in Hamburg / Germany on November 13 – 14, 2008 unanimously support the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) in its strike against Vought Aircraft Industries, a supplier to Airbus, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dismissal of union activist at IBM Turkey
Demonstration at Philips, Turkey
150 workers at Philips demonstrated in the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone, where the company is located.The Philips Group declared that it will close the company because Philips Turkey could not achieve an amount of 40 milion dollars production volume. This means that 150 jobs are cut in Philips Turkey. Birlesik Metal-Is made an action to show the resistance against the decision. Philips workers warned the management that they will continue their actions until the decision to close the site as been changed.
