Think about how much of a sacrifice you are prepared to make when reading the plea posted above:
"I call all GM workers and especially our German colleagues to lay down the work on 3 May. Together we stand strongly and who knows who it will be the next time???"
and about how much more of a sacrifice the Antwerp workers are making now when you read about the extended strike announcement here:
AFX News Limited
Opel's Antwerp employees to extend strike to May 8 from May 3 - trade union
05.01.07, 2:47 PM ET
BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - Employees who started a week-long strike at Opel's Antwerp-based plant last week remain off the job until at least May 8, according to FGTB trade union official Rudi Kennes.
The employees had initially planned to return to work on Thursday, when the next meeting with the European management of GM will take place at the group's German headquarters in Russelsheim, but this meeting has been postponed.
Night and early morning shift workers went on strike after they learned Opel's parent company, General Motors Corp (nyse: GM - news - people ), plans to produce no more than 80,000 vehicles in Antwerp as of 2010 -- which they consider insufficient to compensate for the loss of the Opel Astra, which, as of 2010, will be produced at other plants.
On April 17, GM said it would make between 1,400 and 5,100 employees redundant before the summer, following a drop in Opel Astra sales.
GM also decided not to produce its new Astra model in Belgium as of 2010, but rather at other plants in Germany, Poland, Sweden and the UK.

I'll translate (as good as I can) the above article so that it can be understand by the people it was ment to reach (all over Europe) into English :
"I hereby call upon all GM-workers, and especially our German collegues to lay down your work and strike on the third of May. Together we stand tall, and who knows who's next time ???
