Johny, you are absolutely right. The situation in other plants and locations are similar. Worldwide GM has reduced thousands and thousands of jobs but the amount of managers of GM have increased! That is the truth. Let's demand for restructuring of this guys. It can't be that only the workers have to pay the price for the dumb business strategy of GM! We should discuss more about this in the public. Lean Management? Forget it. They need more and more Managers to cut cost and to get rid of jobs.

Throughout the past years we already got used to the never ending manpower savings. We have all seen disappearing operator by operator. Headcont was the item nr 1 in cost saving.
BUT, what is really frustrating, is that the shape of the organigram looks like a nuclear cloud. Nothing at the bottom and very large at the top. P.e. the production manager in Antwerp has an assistant mgr and this assistant mgr has also an assistant mgr. Other example, for 3 foremen there is a superindendant. Are such situations normal? Not in my opinion!!

Hoe zit het nu met de europese solidariteit??? Buiten twee sulletjes van IG metal heb ik nog niemand gezien of gehoord.
Waarschijnlijk lachen ze ons ginder eens goed uit.
