Union Representatives of Corsa/Aveo plants in Europe met in Eisenach, Germany
European Works Council members and Union Representatives of the Corsa/Aveo plants in Europe met in Eisenach, Germany for a European Union funded Workshop for 2 days.
The Union Representatives of the GM plants in Eisenach, Germany, Saragosss, Spain, Warsaw, Poland and the EEF Steering Committee participated in the first workshop of a EU-funded workshop of the European Metalworkers' Federation. Topics of the workshop were the current outsourcing plans of GM Management, the negotiations on a European Framework on Outsourcing, the upcoming site selection process for the global vehicle architecture Gamma (Opel Corsa, Meriva, Combo, Chevrolet Aveo..) and the consequences of the GM demands for working harder and faster combined with a policy of outsourcing of restricted work. During the workshop the European participants had a chance to meet with Works Council Representatives and IG Metall shop stewards of the Eisenach plant and took part in a plant tour.
