Majority of GM workers in Antwerp voted in favour of going back to work
A small majority of 50,39% of the GM workers in Antwerp, Belgium, voted in favour of going back to work. That means in fact that the strike in the GM plant in Antwerp is over and production is going to start in the night shift from Sunday to Monday.
49,37% of the workers in Antwerp voted in favour of continuing the strike. But for continuing the strike a majority of 2/3 of the workforce votes would be necessary. 0,11% of the workers voted abstained and 0,13 of the votes were invalid. This result shows that the situation at the Antwerp plant is a very sensitive matter. Hopefully, GM Management and especially the local GM Management understand this and will be able to deal with this matter in a decent way for a future of the plant, the workers and their families.
