GM Daewoo unionists hold partial walkout for fourth day - Yonhap News Agency
INCHEON, July 20 (Yonhap) -- Unionists of GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co., South Korea's third-largest automaker, said Friday they will resume wage talks with the management later in the day, after launching a four-hour strike for a fourth straight day.
Unionized workers of GM Daewoo held the four-hour strike from 10 a.m. after the ninth round of negotiations over a pay hike collapsed Thursday.
The four-day partial strike by workers from Monday cost GM Daewoo about 4,000 vehicles in lost production, the company estimated.
The union, which has a membership of 9,500, is demanding an 8.8 percent increase in base salary and a 400 percent bonus increase.
