Gliwice: contract on additional one-time-payment
The Solidarnosc Union at the plant in Gliwice (Poland) and the local management agreed on a contract about an additional one-time-payment of 2500 Zloty (approx. 625 Euro).
It is a big success for the union that this contract could be settled despite the existing collective agreement that is in effect until December 2007.
Every worker will get 2500 Zloty (625 Euro) as additional one-time payment. The average monthly wage at the Gliwice plant is about 750 Euro.
Another part of the current contract is about the installation of a joint clearing committee. Due to bad labour relations and working practises at the plant, this clearing committee was an important demand of the union.
The negotiations about the contract were supported by the chairman of the EEF Klaus Franz who acted as an arbitrator.
