European Frameworks Delta, Antwerp and Outsourcing demanded by European Works Council of GM
Conclusions and demands of the Pre-Meeting of the Manufacturing Committee of the EEF (European Employee Forum of GM), July 12, 2007 adopted by the employee representatives of the European Works Council of GM were presented in the joint meeting with GM Management on July 13.
The European Works Council of General Motors Europe, the European GM Employee Forum (EEF), adopted the following conclusions and demands and presented it in the joint meeting with GM Management in the Manufacturing Committee:
The Manufacturing Committee of the EEF demanded for the conclusion of the following European Framework Agreements:
1. Global Delta (to be solved until end of August 2007): Safeguarding during whole lifecycle of products in Europe (until 2016) which means no plant closure, no forced redundancies, 3-shift operations in the Delta plants, fair capacity distribution
2. Antwerp plant (to be solved in July): Based on announcement mady by GM Management in Brussels on April 17, 2007, 120.000 units per year, SUV exclusive production for Europe, 2 models, option for 3rd model will be discussed in 2009
3. Outsourcing (to be solved until end of August): Appliance of existing European Frameworks (for example in Spain, Poland, UK..), Basis for outsourcing has to be draft contract which has been concluded at Bochum plant by Works Council and Management
4. Future contract for every interested other GME site (including Powertrain) until 2016 (talks should start in September)
All employee representatives of the GME Delta plants (Ellesmere Port/UK, Bochum/Germany, Gliwice/Poland, Trollhättan/Sweden) agreed with the support of all plant representatives to the following:
NO SIGNING OF LOCAL CONTRACTS UNTIL EUROPEAN FRAMEWORKS ON DELTA AND ANTWERP ARE CONCLUDED!
