WARSAW (Reuters) -- Poland will find it hard to attract new foreign investment in the car industry because of rising wages and labor bottlenecks, the head of General Motors in Poland was quoted today as saying.

"For new investors finding employees is nothing short of a miracle. And if we compare euro-denominated employment costs over the last four years, we'll see a 40 percent jump," Romuald Rytwinski said in an interview for Dziennik daily.

"In such conditions I cannot imagine any new car factory being built in Poland."

Poland is expected to see some 11 billion euros in foreign direct investments this year, according to latest estimates from a state investment agency PAIiIZ.

Rytwinski said foreign investors were also discouraged by the virtual standstill in infrastructure projects such as road-building in Poland.

GM produces around 200,000 Astra and Zafira models in a factory in southern Poland.

Its always to expensive for a management , the less wage a worker gets , the more they can put in their own pockets !
What kind of information is this?? A GM management representative threatening the Polish workers who are in a bargaining round with GM at the plant in Gliwce by saying they would be too expensive?? Hey, we all know that Romania, Russia, Uzebkekistan, Ukraine is "cheaper" than Poland. But can this be the road to go?? The Polish workers for example at the Gliwice plant in Poland are proud of their work. They are working hard with less wages than others, they are building cars with excellent quality and that is all what GM Management is telling them to get less????
