Ellesmere Port, UK, press shop is on strike

The press shop at the Ellesmere Port plant in UK is on strike. Reason seems to be the devastating potential effects of the implementation of the so-called "Core Panel press strategy" by GM which would lead to an reduction of jobs cutting the press shops by at least a third. It would lead to a relocation of dies and press parts to suppliers. It seems to also be that suppliers going round the press shops looking at the dies they want to outsource. Could be that this is happening at other GME press shops as well.
